The nervous system controls every aspect of the body. From flexing your muscles to telling your heart to beat, to letting you feel the pain of the rock in your shoe, the nervous system controls and monitors all. If this incredible system is not at optimum functioning, disease results. It can be subtle, like “I just feel out of sorts today”, or it can be massive like “I can’t get out of bed because my back and neck hurt so badly”.

My goal is to allow the nervous system to function at it’s highest level of performance. If a bone is out of place interfering with the function of the nervous system, problems can result.

The following manefestations of nervous system interference can be:

  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Numbness and or tingling down the arms or legs
  • Back Aches
  • Neck and Shoulder Pain
  • Stiff joints
  • Pain when  getting out of bed in the morning
  • Pain in the feet, legs, back and or neck from standing
  • Nutritional challenges
  • Carpal Tunnel like symptoms
  • Tennis elbow
  • Knee pain

Chiropractors call this bone out of place a subluxation. If we can remove this subluxation, the nervous system can work optimally, and the body heals itself naturally without drugs or surgery. Unfortunately, we live in a world of constant stressors. Our jobs, our family lives, pollution, trauma due to injuries, car accidents, repetitive motion injuries, sports injuries, even what we eat and think about, can all contribute to creating subluxations. Often, these subluxations have been present for years, slowly robbing us of the vitality of our lives. Sometimes causing pain, sometimes causing a decreased function of the bodies’ systems. Many times, these disease processes have been silently attacking the nervous system without notice until one day, pain or organ failure causes the person to seek medical attention.

Allopathic medicine (MD’s) utilize drugs, surgery and physical therapy to attempt to treat the symptoms of dysfunction. In cases of broken bones, physical trauma, bacterial infection, and certain other diseases, Allopathic medicine is the proper choice of care.

With subluxation, joint dysfunction, and general immune system weaknesses, Chiropractic is the proper choice of care. Chiropractic looks at the entire person and gets to the root cause of the problem.

Because the body often takes time to change issues that have taken years to develop, it can take time to re-train the muscles and bones to return to their normal state. An analogy is braces on teeth. An Orthodontist doesn’t just put braces on one day, tighten them up, and take them off. It takes time for the teeth to move and for the body to make changes. It can take time for the Chiropractic adjustments to make changes in the body. For this reason, we have created a Chiropractic Membership Plan. This plan is used for people without health insurance or who desire more care than their insurance plan will provide.

Micheal Huseby had the following to say about Dr. Tom at Spicer Wellness Center,

"No bs, no string along appointments. Went to Dr. Tom 2 years ago with crippling lower back pain. After exam. Dr. Tom advised that he could take care of problem in five appointments. I saw him 5 consecutive days and the pain was gone. No string appointments for the next 3 months... as was usually the case with my previous chiropractor. If you are looking for great chiropractic care, you can't go wrong with Spicer Wellness and Dr. Tom."
