Dr. Tom Spicer holds a Doctorate degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota and also holds a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from Mankato State University.
In previous career's, Dr. Tom worked extensively with numerous hearing aid manufacturers and at one time, owned and operated his own Martial Arts school in Burnsville, Minnesota.
As a contributing member to the health and wellness of the Shakopee community, Dr. Tom is:
- Northwestern Health Sciences University faculty mentor for Community Based Internship students. Northwestern is "the premier" Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy and Clinical Research University in the nation.
- An Adjunct Instructor at the Minnesota School of Business as an Anatomy and Physiology and Radiology instructor.
- Past Chairman of the City of Shakopee Economic Advisory Board
- A teacher of numerous ongoing classes through Shakopee Community Education. Recent classes include "How to lower your Blood Pressure through Natural means", "How to Reduce your Back and Neck Pain", "Shock Scream and Run, Women's self-defense", and Adult and Seniors "Tai Chi", "Healthy Bones - How to avoid Osteoporosis Naturally".
- Member of the Scott County Medical Reserve Corps team dedicated to assist local fire, police, and medical personnel in the event of a man-made or natural disaster.
With the faces of healthcare rapidly changing and new information becoming available on a daily basis, Dr. Tom believes that constant continuing education is the only way to keep his skills and mind sharp. Currently, Dr. Tom is board certified in Acupunture as an additional tool to help his patients achieve wellness holistically. Dr. Tom also has extensive knowledge and continues to expand his knowledge in nutritional and hormonal therapies. In September 2009, Dr. Tom became a qualified Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam site and can now do Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol screenings for local businesses.
